Fearghal O’Connor

Voci Ladies Choir are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Musical Director, Fearghal O’Connor.
Fearghal has worked with choirs since graduation with an undergraduate degree in music at the Cork School of Music in 2011. In the same year, he founded and conducted the multi-award-winning CIT Chamber Choir. Having had great success with this choir and in primary schools, he attended a Masters of Education degree in the United States, focusing on teaching, learning and choral singing and conducting. Subsequently, he took up positions with the Lismore Choir and several groups in Cork city and county. Fearghal furthered his studies by enrolling on the Doctor in Music Performance (choral conducting) at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. As part of his studies and examination, he founded Cantores Chamber Choir in Waterford in 2015. This choir functions during the summer months and is aimed at students aged 15-25. Fearghal then accepted the offer to become musical director of the Clontempo Choir, Tipperary and the Wexford Gateway Orchestra. He was approached by Notable Works to lead two Easter-themed recitals in 2019 and 2020 (the latter of which was unfortunately cancelled due to Covid-19).
